Customer Reviews

Modular Dwelling partnered with Make-A-Wish of middle Tennessee to make our son’s wish come true. Not only does Bowen love his new tiny home, but the entire family was impressed by how beautiful the aesthetics were, and how well it was constructed. We’re beyond grateful to the Modular Dwelling team for their generosity and beautiful craftsmanship!

Modular Dwelling has been one of the best home buying experiences I have experienced yet! If you’re considering becoming a tiny home owner allow me the opportunity to share my personal experience. I purchased the Nordic Abode as my first build which are perfect for those looking for a studio style tiny home. As a first time tiny home builder I will admit that this was a little different than purchasing a traditional home. There were many things I didn’t know and I hope this review helps you on your journey.

1. Researching was made easy considering Modular Dwelling has an easy to follow “our models” page. This allows you to view the different models and choose based on preference. I knew I needed something with space and style so I decided to go with the Nordic Abode which has a living/bedroom area, kitchenette with mini fridge, smart electric stove top, full bathroom with soaker tub, an outdoor shower and plenty windows for natural light. Most of these were upgrades and customized to my needs which is another bonus with the builders. You’re able to customize your tiny home and truly make it yours.

2. After reviewing plans and confirming the build the contract was signed. Considering I’m an interior designer and have worked many renovations I knew very specific details that I wanted to have in my build and modular dwelling made sure they met every single need and request during the building process. It was so important to see the progress of the home and glad I was able to do this because this helped me make important changes that were extremely necessary for the mobility of the home.

3. Once everything was in place for the build it was time to focus on the things we tend to forget when buying a tiny home. Exact Placement/ Location, Plumbing (where waste will go) and electrical connection. I like to call it the “fun” stuff. Modular Dwelling was very helpful with the basics. However, I do recommend hiring a designer or advocate such as myself that has experience with tiny homes to make sure all needs are met for the build. There’s nothing worse than not realizing you don’t like a certain thing until after the build is 100% complete. It cost more money to go back and fix it vs. getting it done right the first time.

4. Once the build was complete it was time for pick up and like many of the owners I didn’t see my tiny home for the first time until it sat in front of my home, and I must say I was 100% pleased.

This entire process was honestly seamless and the most exciting part was finalizing the design and watching it come to life. The one thing that stood out to me working with modular dwelling vs. some of the other big companies I could’ve worked with was the personalized and tailored experience I encountered. I’m so happy that I crossed passed with this business it was one of the best decisions and investments I’ve ever made!

Liz and Nehemiah were so easy to work with!
I felt like I kept pestering them with weird questions, and they always responded happily and quickly!

After a few months on blocks, my door settled and they adjusted it, been working like a charm since. the look is beautiful.

Purchasing a tiny home has been the best financial investment I've ever made. When the tiny home craze hit, I desperately wanted one, but I didn't know if I could afford it. When I discovered modular dwellings, the amazing customer service, in-depth conversations, fair prices, and customized options made the entire process fun. They delivered my studio right to my backyard and were beyond personable and professional. As an author and business owner, it has literally changed my life to have my own space that is so beautifully designed and well-made. I would suggest this investment to anyone who is considering it, whether for personal or professional use. I highly recommend

The overall design of the tiny cabin and the fair price is what drew us instantly to Modular Dwelling as opposed to building something similar ourselves or reaching out to other companies. As architects, my husband and I are very particular when it comes to design details, and Nordic Abode was the perfect canvas for any customizations we have done since receiving our two cabins.
